You start with one length of rope and intend to perform the Cut & Restored Rope. But then you realize that the rope indeed has two ends ... but also two middles. The confusion grows as you find that there is now only one middle .... but 3 ends .... and finally your rope has 4 ends! You manage the situation by transforming the rope back to it's original form: one long rope and then you perform a trick with it.
